Tennessee Sleep Society

7 February 2010

2009 has been an interesting year for sleep in Tennessee.  We have exciting plans for TSS members over the next few years.  We have established a strong faculty for our educational programs and will be offering several intensive programs each year, in addition to our annual conference.  Our first registry review course will coincide with the April business meeting and conference.  Legislative efforts continue throughout the nation.  Currently, one piece of legislation has been introduced in Tennessee insuring the continuation of the Polysomnnography Practice Committee.

The process of teaming-up with the AASM continues, as was approved by the TSS membership at large.  We will keep you posted.

A new communications committee has been formed.  This committee will be providing monthly newsletters, web site maintenance, and more effective communication to the members at large.

We continue to grow and promote initiatives to expand the influence of your society.  We depend on your feedback and assistance.  We are looking for volunteers and are anxious to here from you.

I am excited about the year to come and I look forward to seeing you in Nashville at our upcoming conference, April 16.

Sincerely,

Jackie Derrick, RPSGT, R. EEG T.

TSS President
